It all started with Comic-con. I couldn’t afford to buy a mares leg holster to finish my Zoe Washburne costume, so my 18 month old daughter (courtesy of my loving husband) bought me a leatherworking kit for Mother’s Day so I could make it myself…. I tend to be the engineer of our team while my sister is the true artist. I’ve got mad tooling skills and can figure out how to construct it, while she can paint or sketch anything. Together there’s nothing we can’t create!

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a love of all things artistic and creative. I’ve dabbled in a variety of medias. But it wasn’t until I saw my sister making her first costume piece, that my curiosity for leather working was born. That curiosity soon turned into a passion as our skill and knowledge of the craft grew with each new piece we created. One day, my sister and I looked at each other and suddenly we had this idea, “Why don’t we start a business together?!” So here we are today, a leather working sister team from Texas, Lionfly Leatherworks.
